'It's a big personal choice to seek education,' she said. The event catered particularly to those who had already applied, with an eye toward easing the admissions process. Financial aid representatives and other administrative staff were there to answer questions and walk applicants through the major-selection process, but they sometimes go even further. 'A DeVry representative will come out to meet you at home, interview you and make sure you're comfortable with the application process,' said Kevin v y : I You may remember being told to 'air it out' when it came to cuts, scrapes, and lacerations; however, moisture is a critical component of effective wound care. Diabetics and those confined to bed or wheelchairs are susceptible to pressure sores and other chronic wounds. Keeping these wounds moist helps promote healing. Any dressing should keep wounds moist. Gauze dressing, for example, can provide moisture as long as the layer closest to the skin is soaked in saline and covered with dry gauze. Polyvinyl dressing allow oxygen and moisture in and keep bacteria out. They can be kept on for several days. Hydrocolloid dressing are impermeable to oxygen, moisture, and bacteria; they naturally maintain a moist wound surface. Chapman, a field admissions representative who has made home visits himself. It's all part of DeVry's marketing strategy: To attract students who want an education that caters to their needs, said DeMaio. One of the marketing slogans DeVry uses to recruit applicants is, 'You can get where you're going without changing who you are.' The message, DeMaio said, is 'you have a life, you have things that you need to have done. We work with our students to do what they need to do to get their education.' DeVry's accelerated programs, online courses, day and evening classes and flexible course loads helped Long's cousin, a working woman who had to balance three children and a demanding job along with her education. Skolsky landed a job at Colgate Palmolive after a hands-on stint that was part of his course-work in DeVry's co-op program.
